What should I wear?
How long should my hair be?
How soon before should I shower? (I've heard taking a shower right before a wax hurts more)
What happens exactly in a Brazilian wax?
Exactly what area of my ******** do they get??
How much does it normally cost?
ANYTHING ELSE to help me prepare/know what to expect???Help me to prepare for my first Brazilian wax!! And legs/armpits/arms..?
i just had my first brazilian last friday and i wore a pair of velour pants and a t-shirt. i would suggest wearing slighly loose fitting clothes that way nothing is rubbing against your skin. also wear a comfortable pair of underwear. the place i went to suggested that the hair be about 1/4'; in length, but to not exceed 1/2'; in length...the shorter=the less pain (thats my theory), so i trimmed my hair to about a 1/4';. i would say at the latest shower a couple of hours before you plan on getting to the place-but just make sure that you've had one that day, just so eveything is clean ya know.
they will be taking off every bit of hair down there, so that means they will be getting all up in your business, but just remember that these people look at vaginas all day long and there is really no reason to be uncomfortable.
the area that hurts the least is the ';bikini area'; like the perimeter of where the hair is, and towards your butt...theres alot more skin there so its not as painful. the part that caused most pain was the middle area and the ';lips'; but it only hurts for a second and then the pain is done for that area. but at the end i was so happy with the result...she even said i had difficult roots which makes it more painful when pulling out the hair. it cost me $60 at a very upscale part of orlando...park ave.
Also another thing that i found super helpful was the fact that my salon used hard wax instead of wax with strips. with the hard wax, it hardens and clings to the hair...not the skin like strips do (which makes the whole process much more painful) the girl that did my waxing was telling me how some of her clients have scars on them from the wax strips ripping off some of their skin! i cant even imagine going through that. so i would def. make sure the place you are going to uses the hard wax!!
when i was getting the waxing done i just kept up conversation to kind of take my mind off of things and i also asked for a pillow to squeeze...im not a screamer lol. it took about an hour (maybe 45 min) to get my brazilian.
once you are done with everything you will be so satisfied and everything you just went through will have been SO worth it.Help me to prepare for my first Brazilian wax!! And legs/armpits/arms..?
This is all for the Brazilian...Wear comfortable, not too tight underwear. You will be very sensitive afterwards and you don't want anything too harsh rubbing you the wrong way.
You should grow your hair out a bit, maybe to about 1/4 of an inch or longer if you do not already have this. If it is longer, the waxer should trim you before you get started.
Showering before helps the waxer. I don't know about it hurting more or less, but if you are tentative, you can ';freshen up'; with a baby wipe a few minutes before you go for your appointment.
In the actual waxing process, you will be asked to remove your underwear, and you may or may not be given paper underwear to put on. You will be asked to lay back on a bed that should be covered in some sort of disposable sanitary material. If your hair is a bit too long the waxer will trim the hair a little bit and get started. Warm wax is applied to the area that you want the hair removed and it is pulled off until all the hair you want gone is gone. You should be given a choice of if you want some hair to remain like a strip, or if you want it all gone. And when they say all gone, they mean ALL gone... front and back. As such you may be asked to move around a bit so that the waxer can get all the hairs. Afterwards, some people even tweeze some of the hair that was not removed with the wax. A soothing lotion comes when you are all done. The cost varies from place to place and from city to city. Where I go the cost is $35, and I always tip generously since my waxer always does a great job. But I have seen some spas charge $65 %26amp; up.
It is a bit painful, but it is entirely worth it. And it does get better with subsequent visits. You want to make sure that a few days afterwards you exfoliate gently and keep the area moisturized.
