I am super embarrised to get my brazilian wax done. This would be my first time getting it done. I do not know why I am so embarrised because I know they have seen other women before me. Does anyone have any advice for me to get over my embarrisment

Hmm well, think about it this way I guess. Its just your butt region. lol. I mean lots of other people show themselves every day.. like for example mooning people or streaking, but this is a controled envirorment where everyone wont point and laugh. whoever is doing this is a professiional and their job isnt to sit and check you out or laugh or anything..their professionals. there are alot of worse embaressing things out there. just think when you go in....these are professional people, they've seen this before me, its just fine. just keep thinking that and relax hon!
Think of it this way, the person waxing you will be the only one in there. I was so nerevous the first time I got waxed down there, but so worth it. The waxer won't say anything to your friends, she won't call your parents after you leave. Just go in, brace yourself, get it done, then feel super sexy afterwards!
I don't think there is anything that can be done about the embarrassment except for giggling. Just have a laugh at yourself. I did when i got mine first done. I was so nervous that i couldn't stop laughing. My waxer thought it was the funniest thing ever... but she was so good that i saw her for 3 years before she retired.
Just remember that they have seen all shapes and size and really don't care what it looks like or what you have done as long as they get paid LOL

I have a hollywood wax,which in other words mean, all waxed off!!! These beauty therapists have seen it all before and worse so be brave, the first time is always a little nerve wracking but believe me, I've been waxing since I was 16 and after 13 years of having this done, my hair comes through smoother and very fine which always works best for regrowth. Hi, best way to do it is to be confident, bring a friend along to your beautician or go to hers ( if your friend has already had one). It may help to you if you talk to your beautician, i moved recently from Mauritius and had to had my monthly wax ( I do Hollywood by the way) and I was so embarrassed as I did not know anybody and I was in a new place. So talk to the person who is with you, ask her questions about the procedure and you will feel more relaxed. Take some painkillers 1/2 hour prior to your appointment. It helps. You will have more confidence when you wear your bathing suit, you won't have to worry about stray hair. Tips: have a trim to reduced the length of hair when you reach home and wait at least 48 hours before hitting the beach or have relation cause it might be a bit sensitive.

Before you go in, have a glass of wine or a beer or something (always assuming you are old enough to drink). This will help relax you and also keep the pain down. Otherwise, just grit your teeth. Like so many other experiences in life, the first time will be the worst.
I'm not sure how to tell you to get your your embarrassment other than to say that the person doing it does it all the time and yours will not be the first or the last. Take a couple of motrin about an hour before having it done to minimize the discomfort.

Brazilian wax question?
I'm getting my first brazilian wax next week! Both my boyfriend and i are quite excited. but i was wondering how long it took for the irritation to subsideBrazilian wax question?
About 30 minutes, shouldn't be longer than an hour even if you have sensitive skin. Since it's your first I'd recommend taking 2 Advil's 45 minutes before your appt if you have a low pain tolerance. It really doesn't hurt that bad though.
I waxed for about 4 years, I'm currently getting laser hair removal because I've spend more on waxing than I'd of spend on laser. If you plan for this to be a regular thing look into laser.
Also go for the extended brazilian! They wax you front to back! Sometime brazilian just mean everything off the front.Brazilian wax question?
I don't remember exactly how long, but I do remember that you aren't supposed to even get soap on it for two days because its really sensitive and i think i did in the shower and it did sting....so take the first 2 days easy definitely

Spots after brazilian wax?
i had my first brazilian wax 2 weeks ago and now the hair has started 2 grow back. I have red bumps everywer and i dont no why i dont think they are ingrown hairs but its looks bad. I have used nair hair ingrown spray(Green bottle) is not good for me.I use skin doctors(On line or at boots) twice a week and it helps keep spots at bay and ingrown hairs.Try them out.
Use some talc too that may help you!!!

The red bumps are just caused because its the first time you've had it done. I've been having mine done for 2-3 years now, and still sometimes get red bumps!! You need to use something gentle on them, a tea tree moisturiser works really well for me. Also 'bio oil' seems to work well. Good luck!

They let you undress then put a towel over your special spot, then they come in and just take it off okay it was a little embarassing but worth it. I think the obvious answer would be YES, it IS awkward and embarrassing to have a complete stranger taking the hair off of your privates! They're called privates for a reason.
Just don't think about the fact that she might be lesbian, and you'll be fine.

Definitely take something with an anti-inflammatory. Ibuprofen works best. It doesn't do much for the pain but it helps the swelling afterwards. You should go to a beauty supply store and get a topical numbing gel. That helps a bit.
Tylenol isn't really strong enough to numb the pain of a Brazilian. I'll admit I used to take vicodin before my waxes before I got used to them! That just took the edge off, but it still hurt. The pain is worth it in the end though.

I plan on going back in a couple of weeks to get a wax for the upcoming beach trip. I will do the same thing, but I will be sure to ask for a teensy bit more to be left behind in the bikini area. Gentle Questioner, If you have ever had ANYTHING waxed. you know it HURTS!!! just like that 40 year old virgin movie scene. You are ripping the hairs out by the roots, dear. Yes it will hurt. Is it important enough to you? Then only you can decide if it is worth it.
i wouldnt recommend getting a brazillain at salons because the beautician places the spatula back into the wax pot so germs can be shared easily. So it is best to do it at home yourself. At the time of the wax being taken off it is more painful then your eyebrows but afterwards there is no pain.

i wouldnt recommend getting a brazillain at salons because the beautician places the spatula back into the wax pot so germs can be shared easily. So it is best to do it at home yourself. At the time of the wax being taken off it is more painful then your eyebrows but afterwards there is no pain.
you'll itch for weeks when the hair grows back.

I have been waxed entirely, which I love, but I'm afraid when I go to my ob gyn he (or she) will say ';oh, you're totally waxed'; or ';it looks like someone had a wax'; or something like that.

If they are a true professional they will not mention it unless they see it as some sort of health risk.

Lasting brazilian bikini wax?
I have had a brazilian bikini wax twice now. My third one would be around the beginning of January. I always hear about people saying that they're completely hair-free for weeks, but I only stay stuble-free for about two or three days. Is there something wrong with me? Is there any way to make the hair take longer to grow back? Also, They grow at different rates, so when some hairs are gone, others are just beginning to grow. Is this a common problem? As long as you go to a clean place, then it's safe. Make sure they don't double dip your stick in the wax, they use a new table covering for each person (like they do at the doctor's), etc.

i had my first brazilian wax 2 weeks ago and now the hair has started 2 grow back. I have red bumps everywer and i dont no why i dont think they are ingrown hairs but its looks bad. The red bumps are just caused because its the first time you've had it done. I've been having mine done for 2-3 years now, and still sometimes get red bumps!! You need to use something gentle on them, a tea tree moisturiser works really well for me. Also 'bio oil' seems to work well. Good luck!

They let you undress then put a towel over your special spot, then they come in and just take it off okay it was a little embarassing but worth it. I think the obvious answer would be YES, it IS awkward and embarrassing to have a complete stranger taking the hair off of your privates! They're called privates for a reason.
Just don't think about the fact that she might be lesbian, and you'll be fine.

it hurts, but the results are FABULOUS. It will hurt more if you have thick, coarse hair.
The beautician will trim it to the appropriate length before the absolute waxing - otherwise, the wax gets all over the place.

Go for a thong, one you don't mind getting wax on (just in case) it would hurt abit as it's on more sensitive skin but it'll be worth it, and if you have a good therapist then they'll do it quick so it shouldn't really hurt just make sure the skin is strecthed!

The mirror thing is good. She doesn't mind if you are picky and she lets you check it out. The body sugaring is so much better than hot wax. It's weird how it works. I just got a brazilian wax yesterday from a very nice waxing place in new york city. Now the area is severely itchy.
I got a brazilian before and it was also really itchy then too.

Anyway, you could have a sensitivity either to the wax itself or one of the lotions or oils which the therapists used. Maybe try an anti-histamine cream - ask at the pharmacy.
On the other hand it could be something more general. Avoid putting any product at all on your skin immediately after waxing or having any product left on your skin during waxing. Immediately after waxing, your skin pores are open and raw - almost like tiny cuts - and so they are susceptible to irritation and infection even if your skin is not normally sensitive. When I say any product, I include your normal soap or shower gel. A cool shower is OK, that is, cooler than your normal shower but it doesn't have to be totally cold water.
I got bad irritation after my first back waxing. Since then I've started getting waxed all over (cos I hated being so hairy) and I've read quite a bit about skin care for waxing and I have no problem any more.
Try using bikini zone, you can find it at most drug stores or mass merchandisers. Its really for shaving but it makes a huge difference! Lots of women get itchy after waxes. Some get horrible rashes and bumps that dont go away for 2-3 week. ( which pretty much defeats the purpose of waxing) and some bruise badly from it.
The bikini zone contains lidocaine that will help numb the area, and helps calm the skin. It makes the world of a difference, just use it for the first few days after you wax, and you shouldn't have any problems.

no. do NOT take pain meds...aspirin will make you bleed, make sure you get your hair down to a very low point the more hair...the more pain, and it hurts like$%^%$ for a 20 second period but after that you are smooth like a baby and for a long time, worth the pain. Just make sure you are going to a reputable place we should never play with that area. You may burn a bit afterwards but its nothing you cant handle. Just make sure you go to someone who KNOWS what they're doing. I had a terrible experience once and my skin was so badly damaged that it was bruised. It was very painful. I recently got a brazilian wax at a reputable salon. After the next day, I got a few tiny dots that look like small sprouting pimples - you know with the white pus inside - on the top side, under my belly button. I was wondering if this is really normal and what I can do to get rid of them? (Mind you, my skin is still irritated and bumpy, so should I not exfoliate yet?) A complete Brazilian (front to back) is difficult without a buddy to help you reach awkward areas. That being said, it's not impossible. I can usually do the whole front myself (nearly painless). The sensitivity increases the closer you get to the labia...then it totally sucks!! Some people recommend you take a painkiller one hour in advance. It also takes a REALLY long time doing it yourself. Truth be told, unless your waxing buddy has had a lot of practise it's just easier and worth it to pay the price and go professional. A complete brazilian in a salon is usually no more than one hour.

Plus you don't know when they are pulling the wax off so you don't psyche yourself out like when you are doing it yourself.

Put about 10 drops in a cup of warm water and get a washcloth and dab it on the area that is affected. This works great for any type of skin irritation, not just the waxing. The first one hurt a little bit but after that first one it isn't so bad. She uses cold body sugaring so she won't burn you. And like the other poster said, she gives you a mirror to check her work. I get my brazilian or ';manzilian'; from Juleigh. I used to get waxed at UN and like Juleigh's method better. OH, and she get's all the hair and won't leave you bruised or burned. The mirror thing is good. She doesn't mind if you are picky and she lets you check it out. The body sugaring is so much better than hot wax. It's weird how it works. whatever you do, don't go to Urban Nirvana in Columbia! THere is a chick there named Paulette that is a total B)+(# and she is mean. I had a brazilian from her, if you can call it that. My BF and I go to Julie for our brazilians. He won't go to nebody else. I won't either. My college roommate went to her and I went with her one day and decided right then to get one! The first one hurt a little bit but after that first one it isn't so bad. She uses cold body sugaring so she won't burn you. And like the other poster said, she gives you a mirror to check her work. Severely itchy after brazilian wax
I just got a brazilian wax yesterday from a very nice waxing place in new york city. Now the area is severely itchy.
I got a brazilian before and it was also really itchy then too.

Anyway, you could have a sensitivity either to the wax itself or one of the lotions or oils which the therapists used. Maybe try an anti-histamine cream - ask at the pharmacy.
On the other hand it could be something more general. Avoid putting any product at all on your skin immediately after waxing or having any product left on your skin during waxing. Immediately after waxing, your skin pores are open and raw - almost like tiny cuts - and so they are susceptible to irritation and infection even if your skin is not normally sensitive. When I say any product, I include your normal soap or shower gel. A cool shower is OK, that is, cooler than your normal shower but it doesn't have to be totally cold water.
I got bad irritation after my first back waxing. Since then I've started getting waxed all over (cos I hated being so hairy) and I've read quite a bit about skin care for waxing and I have no problem any more.
Try using bikini zone, you can find it at most drug stores or mass merchandisers. Its really for shaving but it makes a huge difference! Lots of women get itchy after waxes. Some get horrible rashes and bumps that dont go away for 2-3 week. ( which pretty much defeats the purpose of waxing) and some bruise badly from it.
The bikini zone contains lidocaine that will help numb the area, and helps calm the skin. It makes the world of a difference, just use it for the first few days after you wax, and you shouldn't have any problems.
