it really isnt as bad as you might think, the embarassment of letting sum1 see your over grown pubic hair is much worse than the pain. It stings at first obviously and its bound to be red for a while but the redness and sawness wont take very long to go away at all. Its a good idea though if i wasnt so embarassed i would go myself. Sexual activity is not a problem at any time afterwards it doesnt effect that at all unless you are too sore still.
it depends on your pain tolerance. it hurts but it is worth it. there is no reason to have to wait to have sex
