Waxing!!!?? Anyone have any suggestions. Should i get a Brazilian or Bikini? First timer!?

Ok I need all the ladies input on this one. I am thinking about getting my first waxing. I am all about the hair removal but I have always shaved, and I have decided to get a wax, but my issues are what should I get done on my first time? Brazilian or Bikini? I have a very high tolerance for pain but I don鈥檛 know if I might be able to handle the brazilian although I might give it a try. Also anyone have any suggestions for a good place in DC, or VA to go and get it done? I was think red door in Pentagon City?Waxing!!!?? Anyone have any suggestions. Should i get a Brazilian or Bikini? First timer!?
I am an aesthetician from winnipeg in canada. My suggestion is go for the bikini first, explain to the girl doing it that you have never done the waxing before and are trying the bikini out first. If you still feel fine after the bikini ask her if she has time to do the whole thing. I am sure that this person will be experienced, but just make sure you hold the skin in that area tight or you may bruise, or take off some skin. (kinda like rugburn). Also for the pain aspect of things, going to get a brazillian or any type of waxing always hurts way more right around your period. So just go when you are in the middle of your cycle. Like anything else there are pros and cons to waxing pros: it takes hair out by the root, and when you get the hair growing back it has a softer tip than if you shave, it also dosen't itch as much %26amp; stays away for longer than most hair removal methods; cons: because the hair isn't coming out of the hair shaft for a longer period of time the hair follicle has more of a chance of closing up causing ingrown hairs. However they do sell chemical products for this, one in mind is called tend skin,( do not use if allergic to aspirin), or you can just dry brush your skin, (exfolliate) the skin so that the hair comes out. The waxing should last anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 weeks depending on your hair growth cycle. Over a long period of time you can work with your aesthetician to keep the hair away for longer periods.

You want to get a Brazilian it takes off everything.. It's gonna hurt the first time you get it done but trust me its well worth it! After you go over and over its not gonna hurt at all. I've done it 3 times already and this last time I went I didn't feel a thing =) It takes like about 30-45 min. After you feel so soft like a baby's bottom!! Its the BEST!!! Make sure you feel comfortable with the person and everything well be fine!!
It depends what you're looking for. A bikini wax takes off mostly the sides and a little of the top, where as a Brazillian wax takes off mostly everything, leaving a small ';landing strip'; or nothing at all. So it really depends on what your aim might be.

I've found that neither one hurts that badly (ever had your eyebrows waxed? that bothers me more!)

I've heard red door is good. They closed the one in Philly, so I haven't tried it, but I've heard positive things.

Best of luck!

next time try brazillian

have fun and goood luck
My advice is no. I have a really high tolerance for pain, I have had my nipples pierced, my clitoris hood, my eyebrow, and I have done waxing one time only and i will never do it again. I almost cried.
